Wow, my last wedding of the year sure made sure that my 2021 wedding season ended with a bang!
My dear friends Richard and Kirsty finally tied the knot on Halloween and my goodness, did we celebrate in style.
I arrived at The Ravenswood early in the morning to find a flurry of bridesmaids (11 in total) getting ready in the bridal prep room; The bubbles and gin were flowing and the brie was honking.
There was one incredibly special guest that made this bridal prep extra special and that was Domino the Dalmatian.
Domino belongs to Kirsty’s Mum and was with us all day and I can confirm that he was more well behaved than some of the guests haha.
While I photographed Kirsty and the girls getting ready thanks to the lovely and fantastic Hannah Gibbins doing make up and the extremely talented and legendary Alan from Alan Foster Hair Design (this man is actually a wizard I swear), my second shooter Yana captured Richard and his entourage ‘preparing’ in the bar.
The happy couple had planned to have an outdoor ceremony but typically the good ole English weather had other ideas, luckily The Ravenswood have recently refurbished their stunning Jacobean Suite so all guests made their way here instead.
Kirsty, in her usual fashion, kept Rich waiting but when she arrived in her stunning bridal gown from Bride by Aster I’m sure that he will concur that she was worth the wait.
His face was every photographers dream, so many emotions crossed his face as she made her way down the aisle with her Mum.
Their ceremony was perfectly them, full of love, laughter and cheers from their nearest and dearest.
After the ceremony all of the guests made their way out to the terrace where I attempted to take group photos of this unruly bunch (I’m allowed to call them this as am lucky enough to call them my friends).
After the formal shots were completed I stole the bride and groom away for a short while to take some photos of just the two of them and then I put my camera gear away and became a guest leaving the fantastic Yana to capture the remainder of their day.
After dinner and speeches the guests made their way to the bar while the staff turned the room around in record time.
Richard and Kirsty didn’t want to do a traditional first dance so instead Kirsty and her Mum took to the dancefloor.
Thanks to Alastair Hill the DJ playing some great tunes and to Alex the best man putting together a special playlist for the newly married couple the dancefloor remained busy throughout the evening.
The rest of the night is still a wee bit of a blur so thank goodness I have the photos to show how truly epic it was!
